Student Access Initiative

Orchestra member Lisa Grodin explains the evolution of the bow

Philharmonia Baroque partners with public and private schools (grades K-12), post-secondary schools, community music centers, and adult continuing education programs to distribute free admission vouchers to the attend subscription concerts, master classes and the annual Family Concert. The Student Access Initiative (SAI) was established in the 2005-2006 concert season to provide opportunities for students to experience great musical performances.

The program:

  • Provides access to Philharmonia Baroque concerts and offers quality musical experiences to new audiences;
  • Provides a meaningful, direct way for the Orchestra to support both social needs and the cultural life of the Bay Area.

Partnering organizations and institutions will receive ticket vouchers that can be distributed to their students and families who would like to attend a concert but otherwise might not be able to do so.  The vouchers may be exchanged for complimentary tickets at the Box Office at each concert venue. We welcome audience members of all backgrounds, and we will be pleased to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Public transportation is available to the Berkeley and San Francisco venues.

If you believe you are eligible to participate in our Student Access Initiative Program, please APPLY BELOW. Requests must be submitted at least a week before the concert.
