Mobile Mentors

This program supports young performing musicians in our community. It is ideal for a middle school or older student ensemble that is preparing a concert program and could benefit from feedback or support.

A specialist from the Orchestra will visit and coach on a repertoire in progress. (The repertoire should involve music in the historical range running from the early baroque through the early romantic periods.) The Philharmonia Baroque Mobile Mentor might offer stylistic suggestions, provide historic context about the composers and compositions, demonstrate important elements of performance practice, and offer practical advice about ensemble playing. One or two Mentor visits may be possible for a given situation.
